The DR Systems Unity RIS/PACS now includes diagnostic reading of digital mammography from the Dominator™ Diagnostic Reading Workstation, allowing customers to achieve the same efficiencies in diagnostic reading, automated reporting, storage, archiving, and Web-based distribution that they have with other modalities. This new RIS/PACS capability eliminates the added expense of a separate mammography reading station or storage device, as well as the additional overhead associated with lifetime storage of hard-copy mammography film.
The Dominator provides highly efficient filtering, sorting, and worklist management capabilities for quick access to cases. In addition, the Dominator now included new Pixel Tracking™ Quality control feature. Other DR Systems capabilities for digital mammography include:
Feature facilitates more complete and accurate digital mammography reading
DR Systems Unity RIS/PACS provides a unique patent-pending quality control feature for soft-copy readers of digital mammography and other radiological images - Pixel Tracking™. DR Systems has developed this interactive tool that allows the user to determine if all image areas have been displayed at full resolution. With a single click, Pixel Tracking locates any image area that has not been fully displayed, and then displays that area. This helps ensure that all images are fully evaluated.
Overlaid images replace traditional side-by-side mammogram viewing for comparing changes over time Image Shuffling™ is a patent-pending new PACS innovation from DR Systems designed to facilitate efficient evaluation and comparison of multiple images performed at different times on the same patient. Whereas the traditional hard-copy model involves side-by-side viewing and comparison of images taken at different periods, the Image Shuffling feature allows for simultaneous viewing of overlaid soft-copy images on the workstation monitor. Images are similarly registered and then overlaid chronologically, allowing the diagnostician to click through from one point in time to the next.
The digital mammography capability is integrated into DR Systems Dominator™ Diagnostic Reading Workstation. Designed for the primary reading of full resolution diagnostic images, the Dominator is the premier radiologist reading station available today. The Dominator provides highly efficient filtering, sorting, and worklist management capabilities for quick access to cases.
