DR Systems Lands Four New PACS Contracts Worth Nearly $5 Million
Fifth straight quarter in which the company has received #1 ranking
SAN DIEGO - December 21, 2005 - DR Systems today announced four new PACS contracts totaling nearly $5 million, with each contract worth more than $1 million. The facilities awarding the contracts are:
- Olympic Medical Center (Port Angeles, Wash.)
- Gottlieb Memorial Hospital (Melrose Park, Ill.)
- Adirondack Medical Center (Saranac Lake, N.Y.)
- United Community Hospital (Grove City, Pa.)
“These new contracts -- plus our #1 ranking by MD Buyline -- are the latest indications of DR System’s leadership in providing a cost effective, unified solution that adds efficiency to the entire diagnostic imaging patient exam workflow,” said Rick Porritt, the company's president and CEO.
All of the hospitals except United Community Hospital have MEDITECH hospital information systems. DR Systems has interfaced its technology with MEDITECH at more than 35 other hospitals, including Howard County General Hospital (Columbia, Md.), Beaufort Memorial Hospital (Beaufort, S.C.), Merle West Medical Center (Klamath Falls, Ore.), and Williamson Medical Center (Franklin, Tenn.)
The PACS system being acquired by the four hospitals features:
- Common user-friendly interface at all the PACS workstations
- Referring doctors’ ability to clinically review images and reports at their home or office
- Instant access to “in progress” study images by ER doctors
- Patented automated hanging protocols for reading physicians
- Report format preferences for individual referring physicians
- Fully integrated digital dictation, voice recognition, and transcription options.
DR Systems was rated the #1 PACS vendor by MD Buyline in its October 2005 Intelligence Report; ranked #2 by KLAS in the 2005 Community Hospital 2005 PACS Report; and ranked #3 in the 2005 KLAS Acute Care Report.
