DR Systems Lands $3.2 Million in RIS/PACS Contracts

SAN DIEGO – DR Systems, makers of the Unity™ RIS/PACS, today announced six new contracts with healthcare facilities, totaling more than $3.2 million.  KLAS®, a research firm specializing in monitoring and reporting the performance of healthcare’s information technology (HIT) vendors (www.KLASreseach.com) recently named DR Systems Unity PACS as the leading PACS product in the Top 20: 2007 Best in KLAS Report, published in December 2007.  DR Systems Unity PACS for the second year in a row, is ranked higher than all other PACS providers including Carestream, McKesson, Fuji, GE Medical Systems, Siemens, Agfa, and Amicas.
The six new facilities with which DR has contracts are:
  • Ojai Valley Community Hospital (Ojai, Calif.)
  • Cuero Community Hospital (Cuero, Tex.)
  • Forks Community Hospital (Forks, Wash.)
  • Medical Center Hospital (Odessa, Tex.)
  • St. Luke’s Hospital (Duluth, Minn.)
  • Hermann Area District Hospital (Hermann, Mo.)
  • Methodist Hospital of Union County (Morganfield, Ky.)
The largest contract was for $1.1 million, with the smallest contract at about $195,000.    The range of new facilities and contract sizes reflect the scalable nature of DR Systems’ RIS/PACS. About the Healthcare Facilities

Ojai Valley Community Hospital is a non-profit, community-based acute care facility dedicated to serving the 35,000+ residents of the Ojai Valley. The 103-bed facility also operates the Oak View Family Practice, a primary care clinic in the valley. www.ojaihospital.org

Forks Community Hospital in Forks, Wash. is a 15-bed acute care inpatient facility and 20-bed long-term care facility serving approximately 11,500 residents of western Clallam and Jefferson Counties in the state of Washington. Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Tex. is a community-based teaching hospital system. It is the only full-service hospital in Ector County and serves as the regional referral hospital for the 17 surrounding counties of the Permian Basin. www.mchodessa.com

St. Luke’s Hospital provides healthcare services for a 17-county region in three states, with a population of approximately 500,000. Located in Duluth, Minn., the facility is federally designated as the Regional Trauma Center. www.slhduluth.com

Hermann Area District Hospital is a full-service, critical access community hospital serving Hermann, Mo. and the Missouri River Valley since 1967. The hospital began renovations in 2007 that include expanding its outpatient clinics and adding new patient rooms. www.hadh.org

Methodist Hospital of Union County is a 41-bed critical access hospital comprised of 25 acute beds and 16 beds operated as a nursing facility for long-term care in Morgansfield, Ky. MHUC is affiliated with Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Ky.  www.methodisthospitaluc.net
