SAN DIEGO - March 10, 2005 DR Systems announced today that the company has signed a contract worth more than $5 million for installation and maintenance of a PACS at the 764-bed Halifax Medical Center (HMC) in Daytona Beach, Fla. The PACS will auto-launch from Halifax’s existing MEDITECH Health Care Information System (HCIS) and radiology information system (RIS). Under the five-year agreement, DR Systems will provide a complete PACS, including workflow efficiency enhancements such as single sign-on capability, a comprehensive disaster recovery system, voice recognition, digital dictation, transcription, automated report distribution over the Web, and document scanning.

“HMC radiologists read more than 200,000 studies per year, so the right selection of a PACS vendor was critical for us,”said Bill Kazee, Halifax PACS Administrator. “DR Systems PACS gave us the breadth of capabilities and a depth of experience in developing MEDITECH interfaces that we couldn’t find anywhere else.
