DR Systems Awarded Approved PACS Vendor Status from MedAssets Supply Chain Systems

SAN DIEGO - April 4, 2006 DR Systems, rated the #1 PACS vendor by MD Buyline, today announced that it has been selected by MedAssets Supply Chain Systems as an Approved PACS (Picture Archive and Communications System) Vendor to MedAssets’ customers.

As an approved PACS Vendor, DR Systems will be able to sell the company’s PACS and RIS (Radiology Information System) to MedAssets’ customers.  MedAssets Supply Chains Systems is one of the largest and fastest-growing medical group purchasing organizations (GPO) and supply chain services companies in the U.S. The multi-year agreement between DR Systems and MedAssets Supply Chain Systems is effective April 1, 2006.

The DR Systems RIS/PACS includes numerous advanced features, including Web-based scheduling, document scanning printing and faxing, voice recognition, dictation, transcription, management reports, advanced image processing, Web-based image report and audio clip distribution.  The company's solutions also offer archiving, digital radiology, digital mammography, pathology, cardiology tools, output to billing systems and services, and EMR integration.  DR Systems holds many of the innovative patents that have shaped this industry and is considered a key pioneer and innovator, having been founded 14 years ago.

The DR Systems Approved PACS Vendor status will provide MedAssets customers the ability to utilize an exclusive offering of lease-to-purchase or flexible capital purchase plan options, deep discounts, and unique Imaging Center packages.  Because DR Systems provides a single-vendor solution, healthcare customers can simplify their enterprise information technology management and reduce their costs, by consolidating associated applications on one unified system with a single user interface.

"In addition to purchasing a new RIS/PACS solution, MedAssets customers will be able to take advantage of DR Systems' unique approach to using imaging information technology," said Mark Miriani, Senior Vice President of Contracting for MedAssets Supply Chain Systems, " This unique approach enhances benchmarking, performance improvement, and driving down operating costs, while also improving patient care and offering greater physician satisfaction."

"With many choices in the marketplace, DR Systems is honored to be selected as an Approved PACS Vendor for MedAssets' customers," said Richard Porritt, President and CEO of DR Systems. "MedAssets customers now will have the opportunity to purchase a unified RIS/PACS solution that provides one of the lowest overall costs of ownership in the industry."

DR Systems has been rated the #1 PACS vendor by MD Buyline for six consecutive quarters, including the January 2006 Intelligence Report; ranked #2 by KLAS in their 2005 KLAS Community Hospital PACS Report, and ranked #3 in their 2005 KLAS Acute Care PACS Report.
