Central Peninsula General Hospital is DR Systems First PACS Contract in Alaska

SAN DIEGO - April 14, 2005 Central Peninsula General Hospital (CPGH) of Soldotna, Alaska, has awarded a contract to DR Systems for its Dominator™ PACS. The turnkey system installation includes the main CPGH facility in Soldotna and their satellite health center in Kenai.

“The efficiencies and improved quality of healthcare facilitated by the DR Systems PACS include the common user friendly interface at all the PACS workstations, our referring doctors’ ability to clinically review cases at their home or office”, says Doug Wehrli, CPGH Director of Radiology. “And nearly instant access to in-progress study images by our ER docs for making life saving decisions more quickly.”

CPGH’s enterprise PACS solution features DR Systems’ patented reading physician's automated hanging protocols and report format preferences of individual referring physicians. Automated hanging protocols allows a physician’s individual preferences for how the images are to be properly windowed and leveled, cropped and zoomed, in the proper series, and are annotated with montage, voice clip and full report.   DR Systems’ image Central Server and Communicator™ Web Server will be integrated into CPGH’s new HP® DL380 G4 Servers and will be interfaced to the MEDITECH® MAGIC® HCIS.

For 35 years Central Peninsula General Hospital has had a reputation for providing quality health care to the Alaskan Central Peninsula communities, which encompasses a service area of over 25,600 square miles. With 46 beds, CPGH maintains a staff of 300 qualified healthcare professionals.

DR Systems is rated the #1 PACS vendor by MD Buyline in their April 2005 Intelligence Report; ranked #2 by KLAS in their 2004 Top 20 Year End Best in KLAS Community Clinical and Ancillary Solutions Report, and ranked #3 in their 2004 Top 20 Year End Best in KLAS Acute Care Report.
